DISABILITY SERVICES
PROGRAM
Records and Confidentiality
Records:
The Counseling Center requests disability-related documents
from an appropriate licensed professional to certify a
student as having a disability and to determine appropriate
accommodations. If the initial documentation is incomplete
or inadequate to determine the extent of the disability
and appropriate accommodation, the college has the discretion
to require additional documentation. Records which verify
the student’s disability are maintained and stored
within the Counseling Center.
Confidentiality of information:
TheCounseling Center will maintain files of official
documentation of disability. This information is considered
confidential information. The Counseling Center will only
communicate the existence of a disability and the need
for accommodation when the student has provided written
permission allowing the disclosure of that information.
