Obscene/Harassing Phone Calls

In the event you are the recipient of an obscene or harassing phone call hang up as soon as you realize the nature of the call. Do not engage in conversation with the caller. Report the incident to Campus Security and your Resident Director. These calls constitute the violation of Nebraska State Statute 28-1310, Intimidation by Phone and 28-311.02, Harassment.

Campus Security works closely with local law enforcement agencies in identifying the source of the calls and the prosecution of violators; however, the incident requires that a formal report be filed. Campus Security is available to file this report and assist residents with this problem.

Phones in Wayne State College resident's rooms are equipped with the "Caller ID" feature. IF your phone is not equipped to handle this feature "Caller ID" boxes are available for short-term use from Campus Security.
