2006: Appeared in 37 matches for WSC, playing in 110 games. . . Had 74 kills (0.67 kpg), 15 set assists (0.14 apg), 16 blocks (0.15 bpg) and 148 digs (1.35 dpg). . . Had season-high 10 kills on 10-21-06 against Upper Iowa and 14 digs against Rockhurst on 8-25-06. Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team for second straight season.

2005: Appeared in all 35 matches for WSC, playing in 122 games. Had 93 kills (0.76 kpg), 60 set assists (0.49 apg), 59 blocks (0.48 bpg) and 48 digs (0.39 dpg). Had season-high eight kills in three matches during the season. Recorded season-high six block assists and seven assists vs. Winona State on 10-15-05.
Selected to the 2005 NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.

2004: Played in 21 matches, saw more playing time as season went on. Had a season high nine kills and 10 digs in key five-set win at South Dakota on 10-27-04. Finished season with 18 kills and 32 digs.

: Was given the Sertoma Arward in 2003-04 season. Was selected All-State Honorable Mention two years. Selected All-conference honorable mention as a sophomore, 2nd team as a junior and 1st team as a senior. Captain of team in 2003-04. Was selected All-Area as a senior. Led team to conference championship in 2003-04.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
