2006:
Played in all 38 matches for Wildcats at middle hitter. . . Recorded 599 kills (4.47 kpg, 3rd in NSIC), 407 digs (3.04 dpg), a .273 hitting percentage (8th in NSIC) and 206 blocks (1.54 bpg, 1st in NSIC). . . Also averaged 5.64 points per game which was third in the NSIC. . . Had a career-high 29 kills against Southwest Minnesota State on 10-24-06. . . Ranked on the all-time record charts in single season kills (599, 1st) and single season attacks (1,425, 4th). . . Named the MVP of the Colorado Mines Volleyball Classic after averaging 4.79 kills and 3.14 digs in four games. . . Named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week twice and Nebraska NCAA Division II Volleyball Player of the Week five times. . . Named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week on 10-30-06 for the first time in school history after averaging 6.13 kills per game for the week. . . Selected honorary captain of the Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska Division II Volleyball Team.

2005: Selected NSIC All-Conference honorable mention in first season with Wildcats. Started all 35 matches, averaging 3.71 kills and 3.26 digs per game. Finished season with 10 or more kills in last 14 matches. Named Nebraska NCAA Division II Player of the Week on 10-24-05. Had season-high 23 kills vs. Northern State on 9-23-05. Recorded season-high 29 digs vs. MSU Moorhead on 10-21-05. Had 15 double-doubles during the season. Named honorable mention to the Omaha World Herald All-Nebraska Volleyball Team.

Before WSC: Attended the University of Nebraska for two years. Emily redshirted in the 2003 season and appeared in three matches during the 2004 season.

High School
: Selected All-State and All-Conference her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Named the honorary captain of the Lincoln Journal Star Class C-2 all-state squad. Led Laurel-Concord to runner-up finishes in 2000 and 2002 in Class C-2 at the Nebraska state volleyball tournament. As a senior, she produced 286 kills, 79 blocks and 27 service aces to lead her to team to 25-2 record. Finished her career with 698 kills, 192 blocks and 57 service aces.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
