Appeared in all 38 matches as a sophomore at outside hitter. . . Recorded 416 kills (3.20 kpg), 154 digs (1.18 dpg) and 77 blocks (0.59 bpg). . . Had a season-high 22 kills against North Dakota on 8-26-06. . . Recorded 20 or more kills three times and 10 or more kills 22 times. . . Ranked 7th on the all-time single season attacks chart (1,350). Selected to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.

2005: Appeared in 32 matches with 25 starts as a freshman at outside hitter. Recorded 209 kills (2.07 kpg), 108 digs (1.07 dpg) and 45 blocks (0.45 bpg). Had season-high 14 kills vs. Northern State on 9-23-05. Notched 10 or more kills in seven of her last nine matches of the season.

High School: Selected the Iowa Class 2A Player of the Year and was a First Team All-State Selection as a junior and senior. Was also named the captain of the All-Tournament Team during her senior season. Earned All-District and All-Conference First Team Honors as a junior and senior. Led Hull Western Christian to three consecutive state championships.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
