2007 Outdoor: Had a very busy NSIC Championship meet, placing first in the long jump 22'9", second in the 100 meter dash (10.83) and the 200 meter dash (22.00), third in the triple jump (44' 9 1/2"), and ran a leg on third place 4x100 meter relay team (42.47)...participated in the Drake Relays, running the 100 meter dash (11.03) and running a leg on the 4 x 400 meter relay team...set new school record of 10.68 seconds in the 100 meter dash at the Wildcat Open on 4-16-07, breaking 42-year-old school record.

2007 Indoor: Finished first in the 200 meter dash in a new school record and provisional national qualifying time of 22.10 at the NSIC Indoor Championships...also took first in the long jump (23' 1 3/4") and second in the 55 meter dash with a provisional national qualifying time (6.40) and third in the triple jump (45' 5") at the NSIC Championships to earn high point scorer award...earned a provisional national qualifying mark in the long jump placing first at the Wildcat Open with a jump of 23' 5 1/2"...named NSIC Men's Track Athlete of the Week on 1-30-07 after winning the 60 meter dash and long jump and placing second in the triple jump at the Bill Hilldenbrand Invitational.

2006 Outdoor: Took first place in the long jump at the NSIC Championships with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 23' 4".....placed second in the triple jump (44' 8 1/4") and fifth in the 100 meter dash (10.85) and fifth in the 200 meter dash (22.92).....season best times were 10.85 in the 100 meter dash and 22.18 in the 200 meter dash at the Morningside Open on 4-1-06......both jump marks at NSIC Championships were season bests.

2006 Indoor: Finished third in the long jump (22' 4 1/2") and triple jump (44' 5 1/4") at the NSIC Indoor Championships to earn All-NSIC honorable mention honors. Also finished fifth in the 55 meter dash (6.65) and 200 meter dash (22.93) at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Had season-best jumps of 22' 9 1/2" in the long jump and 45' 6" in the triple jump at the Wildcat Open on 2-11-06.

2005 Outdoor: Placed in three events at the NSIC Outdoor Championships. Took fifth in the 100 meter dash (11.59), sixth in the long jump (20' 10 1/2") and ran a leg on the fourth place 400 meter relay team (44.33). Also competed in several meets in the triple jump and 200 meter dash. Season-best in the triple jump was 44' 2 1/4".

2005 Indoor: Scored points in two events at the NSIC Indoor Championships, placing fourth in the long jump (21'10 1/4") and was fourth in the triple jump (42' 9 1/4") Season-best mark in triple jump was 43' 5 1/4" at the Derek Miles Open at South Dakota on 1-22-05.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
