2007 Outdoor: Finished third in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.96 at the NSIC Championships in Moorhead, Minnesota...also ran legs on first place 4 x 800 meter relay team (7:52.42) and the fourth place 4 x 400 meter relay team (3:22.95) at the NSIC Championships...ran legs on two relay teams at Drake Relays with the 4 x 800 posting a season-best time of 7:40.80 to finish ninth...named to the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team.

2007 Indoor: Set two new school records during the indoor season for the Wildcats...ran a time of 2:31.89 in the 1,000 meter run at the Minnesota State Open on 2-3-07 to break previous mark of 2:33.42 set by Casey Ide on 1-4-06...also broke 600 meter run mark with a time of 1:22.70 at the NSIC Indoor Championships to place third in the event...also ran legs on conference champion distance medley relay team and fourth place 4 x 400 meter relay team at NSIC meet...ran leg on 4 x 800 meter relay team that set new school record of 7:56.29 at the Wildcat Open on 2-10-07...selected to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2006 Outdoor: Finished third in the 800 meter run (1:58.41) at the NSIC Championships.....ran legs on the first place 4 x 800 meter relay team (8:02.56) and second place 4 x 400 meter relay team (3:21.47)......ran third leg on school record setting 4 x 800 meter relay team that ran 7:39.70 at the Drake Relays on 4-27-06.....ran season best time of 1:55.04 in the 800 meter run at the Sioux City Relays on 4-22-06.

2006 Indoor: Ran a leg on the NSIC champion distance medley relay team with a time of 10:22.86 to win All-NSIC honors. Finished third in the 800 meter run (1:58.85) and as a member of the 1600 meter relay team (3:27.65) at the NSIC Indoor Championships to earn All-NSIC honorable mention honors in the 800 meter run.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
