2007 Outdoor: Set new NSIC mark winning the 100 meter hurdles at the NSIC Championships on 5-12-07 in Moorhead, Minnesota with time of 14.28 seconds to qualify for NCAA Division II Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina...ran time of 14.51 seconds at nationals to finish 14th overall...defended title at Sioux City Relays with win in 100 meter hurdles in time of 14.70 seconds...also ran legs on 4 x 100 meter relay team (4th-place, 49.31) and 4 x 400 meter relay team (5th-place, 4:01.85) at the NSIC Championships...named to the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team.

2007 Indoor: Qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Nationals with new school-record time of 8.18 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles to take first place at the NSIC Championships on 2-24-07...finished 16th in 60 meter hurdles at NCAA Division II Nationals in Boston, Mass. with time of 9.01 seconds...also ran leg on 4 x 400 meter relay team that won NSIC title with new school record time of 4:03.62...named NSIC Women's Track Athlete of the Week on 2-7-07 after winning 60 meter hurdles (8.87) at Minnesota State Open in Mankato...selected to NSIC Winter All-Academic Team for second straight season.

2006 Outdoor: Won the 100 meter hurdles (14.74) at the NSIC Championships.....also ran legs on two relays, placing sixth in the 4 x 100 meter relay (55.95) and fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay (4:09.77)....ran season best time of 14.68 in the 100 meter hurdles at the Division II Challenge on 4-15-06 and 1:06.22 in the 400 hurdles at the Sioux City Relays.....selected NSIC Women's Track Athlete of the Week on 5-9-06..... also selected to the NSIC All-Academic Team.

2006 Indoor: Earned All-NSIC honors with second place finish in the 55-meter hurdles (8.39 seconds) at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Ran leg on fourth place 4 x 400 meter relay team. Rachel set new school record of 9.11 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the Division II Challenge on 2-4-06. Named to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2005 Outdoor: Scored points in four events at the NSIC Championships in Moorhead, Minn., on May 6-7. Earned All-NSIC honors with a second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles (15.49) and took fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.30. Also ran legs on the third place 400 meter relay and fourth place 1600 meter relay. Placed second in the 100 meter hurdles at the WSC Twilight Meet (3-29-05) and the Sioux City Relays (4-24-05).

2005 Indoor: Earned All-NSIC honors with second place finish in the 55-meter hurdles (8.61) at the NSIC Championships. Named the NSIC Women's Track Athlete of the Week on 2-21-05 after winning the 55 hurdles (8.61) at the UNK Meet on 2-18-05. Also ran leg on fifth place women's distance medley relay team at the NSIC Championships.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
