2007 Outdoor: Earned All-NSIC honors with second place finish in long jump (22' 7 3/4") at the NSIC Championships in Moorhead, Minnesota...also placed sixth in triple jump at 43' 4 1/2" and ran leg on third place 4 x 100 meter relay team that ran a time of 42.47...selected to the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team.

2007 Indoor: Just missed finals in the triple jump and long jump at the NSIC Indoor Championships, finishing ninth in the triple jump (42'8") and ninth in the long jump (21'0")...had indoor season-best mark of 21' 9 1/2" in long jump at Wildcat Open in Wayne on 2-10-07 to finish fourth...named to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2006 Outdoor: Had strong meet at NSIC Championships, placing in four events....took third in the long jump (22' 3 1/2"), sixth in the triple jump (42' 6 3/4"), sixth in the 110 meter hurdles (15.78) and sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:02.20).....both hurdle times at NSIC Championships were season bests along with long jump mark.....jumped season best 42' 10 3/4" in the triple jump at the Division II Challenge on 4-15-06.

2006 Indoor: Finished third in the 55 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.08 at the NSIC Indoor Championships to earn All-NSIC honorable mention honors. Ran a season-best 8.80 in 60 meter hurdles at the John Dalton Open on 2-18-06.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
