2007 Outdoor: Placed sixth in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:58.85 at the NSIC Championships in Moorhead, Minnesota...also ran legs on the first place 4 x 800 meter relay team earning All-Conference honors and on the fourth place 4 x 400 meter relay team...ran season best 1:56.93 in the 800 meter run at the Howard Wood Relays...also competed in the Drake Relays, running a leg on the ninth place 4 x 800 meter relay team with a time of 7:40.80.

2007 Indoor: Earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors by placing third in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:59.01 at the NSIC Indoor Championships in Bemidji, Minnesota on 2-24-07...also earned All-Conference honors running a leg on the conference champion distance medley relay team...won the 1,000 meter run at the Wildcat Open (2-10-07) in a time of 2:46.10...ran leg on 4 x 800 meter relay team that set new school record (7:56.29) at the Wildcat Open on 2-10-07.

2006 Outdoor: Placed sixth in the 800 meter run (2:00.42) at the NSIC Championships......also ran lead leg on first place 4 x 800 meter relay team (8:02.56) that took first place......also ran lead leg on 4 x 800 relay team that set new school record (7:39.70) at the Drake Relays on 4-28-06.

2006 Indoor: Earned All-NSIC honors with second place finish in the 600 meter run (1:23.78) at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Also placed fourth in the 1,000-meter run (2:40.30). Named to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2005 Outdoor: Ran leg on second place 3200 meter relay team (8:04.20) to earn NSIC honorable mention honors at the NSIC Championships. Also ran leg on fifth place 1600 meter relay team (3:30.11) and just missed finals in the 800 meter run, placing ninth at 1:59.47. Won the 800-meter run at the WSC Triangular on 4-2-05 with time of 2:00.23.

2005 Indoor: Earned NSIC All-Conference honors in two events at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Ran leg on first place distance medley relay team (10:31.24) and was second in the 800 meter run at 1:59.56. Also ran leg on fifth-place 1600 meter relay team (3:31.22).

2004 Outdoor: Scored points in three events at the NSIC Outdoor Championships. Ran legs on first place 3200 meter relay team (8:11.79) and fourth place 1600 meter relay team (3:22.00) and finished eighth in the 1500 meter run (4:09.90). Set new school record with Korey Kriz, Eric Klein and Matt Schaffer in the 3200 meter relay with time of 7:50.90 set at the Sioux City Relays on April 16-17, 2004.

2004 Indoor: Ran leg on first place 1600 meter relay team (3:30.43) to earn NSIC All-Conference recognition. Received NSIC honorable mention with second place finish in the 3200 meter relay (8:08.36). Also took seventh in the 800 meter run at 2:02.99.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
