2007 Outdoor: For the second straight season earned All-Conference honors after placing second in the pole vault with a vault of 15' 5 1/2"...broke his own school record at the Howard Wood Relays with a vault of 15' 6" in windy and rainy conditions, which later earned him NSIC Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors on 5-8-07.

2007 Indoor: Earned All-Conference honors by placing second in the pole vault with a school record and provisional national qualifying vault of 16' 1 1/4"...broke his own school record several times throughout the season and barely missed qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Meet... selected NSIC Men's Field Athlete of the Week on 2-20-07 after placing fifth at the Prairie Wolf Open with a vault of 15' 9 1/4".

2006 Outdoor: Set new school record in the pole vault (15' 5 1/2") to win the NSIC Championship in Wayne to cap stellar freshman season.

2006 Indoor: Finished fourth in the pole vault (14' 6") at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Set a new school record in the pole vault with a jump of 15' 0" at the John Dalton Open on 12-8-05.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.

Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.

The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.

The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.

Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
