John Sloup Sophomore - Throws Staplehurst, Neb. (Seward HS) 2007 Outdoor: Scored well in two events to help WSC men win second straight conference title...set new school record with second place finish in the hammer throw (165'4") and took fourth in the discus with a top mark of 140'8"...named NSIC Men's Field Athlete of the Week on 4-24-07 after placing second at Sioux City Relays with new school record mark of 164'4", breaking old mark by more than 16 feet.
2007 Indoor: Collected All-NSIC honors with second place finish in the weight throw at the NSIC Indoor Championships in Bemidji, Minnesota, throwing season-best mark of 54' 3 1/4".
2006 Outdoor: Placed fourth in the hammer throw at the NSIC Championships with a new school record throw of 148' 3".....finished 10th in the discus with top throw of 107' 2"......season best mark in discus was 124' 2" at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays on 5-5-06.
2006 Indoor: Competed in the weight throw during the indoor season. Set the school record in the weight throw with a throw of 48' 3 3/4" at the Wildcat Open on 2-11-06.

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.
Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.
The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.
The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.
Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
