2007 Outdorr: Earned All-NSIC Honorable Mention honors after placing third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 9:54.75 at NSIC Outdoor Championships in Moorhead, Minnesota....also placed fifth in the 10,000 meter run in a time of 32:47.76...named to NSIC Spring All-Academic Team for third straight season.

2007 Indoor: Finished ninth at NSIC Championships in 5,000 meter run in time of 16:20.37...placed second in the 5,000 meter run at the Derek Miles South Dakota Open (12-7-06) in a time of 16:26.24...took fourth in the 3,000 meter run at the Wildcat Classic (2-10-07) in a time of 9:21.42...ran a season best time of 4:42.70 in the one mile run at the John Dalton Memorial Open in Vermillion, SD...selected to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team for third straight season.

2006 Outdoor: Scored points in three events at the NSIC Championships, taking second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:59.74), fifth in the 10,000 meter run (34:42.07) and sixth in the 5,000 meter run (16:21.02).....season best times were 9:39.14 at the Wildcat Classic on 4-8-06, 15:48.76 in the 5,000 meter run at the Wildcat Classic (4-8-06) and 32:57.43 in the Division II Challenge on 4-14-06 in Emporia, Kansas..... named NSIC Men's Track Athlete of the Week on 4-11-06.....also selected to the NSIC All-Academic Team for the second straight season.

2006 Indoor: Finished third in the 5,000-meter run (15:45.92) at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Season bests were 9:02.74 in the 3,000-meter run at the Division II Challenge on 2-4-06 and 15:44.43 in the 5,000-meter run on 1-27-06 at the Iowa State Open. Selected to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team for second straight season.

2005 Outdoor: Scored in three events at the NSIC Outdoor Championships, taking second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:44.2) to earn All-NSIC honors. Received NSIC honorable mention with third place finish in the 10,000-meter run (34:18.08) and was fourth in the 5,000-meter run at 15:58.10. One of four WSC athletes named to the NSIC All-Academic Team and was a finalist for the WSC Male Athlete of the Year at the WSC Honors Banquet.

2005 Indoor: Received NSIC honorable mention honors with third place finish in the 5,000-meter run (15:51.10) at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Selected to the NSIC All-Academic Team.

2004 Outdoor: Placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:41.35) at the NSIC Championships to earn All-NSIC honors. Also placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:49.69.

2004 Indoor: Earned NSIC honorable mention recognition with a third place finish in the 5,000-meter run (16:00.53) at the NSIC Indoor Championships held at WSC.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
