2007 Outdoor: Placed third in the 110 meter high hurdles (14.91) and fifth in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles (56.08) at the NSIC Championships...picked up a couple of second place finishes in the 110 meter high hurdles and the 400 meter intermediate hurdles at the Wildcat Classic (4-16-07) with times of 14.87 and 56.35 respectively...named to the NSIC Spring All-Academic Team.

2007 Indoor: Earned All-Conference honors after placing second in the 55 meter hurdles with a personal best and provisional national qualifying mark of 7.64...won the Bill Hilldenbrand Invitational in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.33...just missed qualifying for the NCAA Division II Championships in the 60 meter hurdles...named to the NSIC Winter All-Academic Team.

2006 Outdoor: Capped stellar freshman season with a pair of second place finishes at the NSIC Championships, taking second in the 110 meter hurdles (14.74) and the 400 meter hurdles (57.86).....also ran leg on third place 4 x 100 meter relay team (43.62)......season-best times were 14.74 in the 110 hurdles at NSIC Championships and 56.89 in the 400 hurdles at the Hornet Invite in Sacramento on 3-25-06.

2006 Indoor: Finished second in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.86 to earn All-NSIC honors at the NSIC Indoor Championships. Had a season-best time of 8.49 in the 60 meter hurdles at the Iowa State Open on 1-28-06.

High School: Four-year track standout at Humphrey High School.....also started two years in football and basketball while earning four letters in each sport.....earned medals at state track as a junior and senior.

Personal: Son of Russell and Karen Flamig.....Born on April 30, 1987.....majoring in theatre.....father Russell competed in track and WSC from 1979-82, still has name on 4 x 400 meter relay school record in 1981.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
