Brett Suckstorf Sophomore - Throws Pierce, Neb. (Pierce HS) 2007 Outdoor: Competed in four meets as an unattached athlete while redshirting during the outdoor season....threw season-best mark of 163'5" to finish seventh in the hammer throw at Nebraska Open and had top marks of 141'10" in the discus at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays (5-5-07) and the Nebraska Open (4-29-07).
2007 Indoor: Set new school record in weight throw during the indoor season, eclipsing mark at three different times...threw season-best 55' 3/4" to take first place at Wildcat Open on 2-10-07...started season with 53' 6 1/2" mark at Derek Miles USD Open to break previous school mark of 48' 3 3/4" set by John Sloup in 2006 season...just missed placing at NSIC Championships, taking seventh with top throw of 47' 6 1/4".
2006 Outdoor: Finished fourth in the discus (143' 2") at the NSIC Championships in Wayne......threw season best 150' 3" in the discus at the Division II Challenge on 4-15-06.....also participated in the hammere throw throughout the season, had best mark of 128' 5" at the Morningside Open on 3-31-06.
2006 Indoor: Competed in the weight throw during the indoor season. Finished sixth at the NSIC Indoor Championships in the weight throw with a season-best throw of 48' 1 1/4".

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.
Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.
The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.
The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.
Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
