Mike is in his fourth year as Wayne State College sports information director. Prior to coming to Wayne State, Mike was the sports editor at the Wayne Herald from 2002-2004. He also served as the sports director for KTCH radio in Wayne for 15 years from 1987-2002. While at KTCH, Grosz was the play-by-play announcer for Wayne State women's basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball and served as a color commentator for football and men's basketball. He also broadcast hundreds of area high school football, volleyball, basketball and baseball games and still does play-by-play for local high school and college events on a part-time basis.

At Wayne State, Grosz is in charge of publicity for the 15 varsity sports by issuing press releases to the media along with putting together media guides and taking statistics for all home sporting events. Other duties include updating and maintaining the WSC athletic department website on the internet. Grosz is also a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). As a member of CoSIDA, Grosz serves on the Daktronics All-American Volleyball Committee as the North Central Regional Coordinator.

Mike and his wife, Peggy, have two children: Ryan (13) and Holly (10). They reside in Wayne, Neb.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
