2007: Appeared in 21 games with five starts at designated hitter...finished season with .136 average going 3 for 22 with two runs scored and four RBIs...had key pinch hit 2-run double vs. MSU Moorhead on 4-10-07 to key rally in 7-6 win over the Dragons. Selected to the NSIC All-Academic Team for the second straight season.

2006: Played in 16 games with seven starts at designated hitter....finished with third highest batting average on team at .240, going 6 for 25 at the plate with one triple and one RBI.....had two games with two hits, vs. South Dakota on 3-18-06 and Minn.-Crookston on 4-22-06.....selected to the NSIC All-Academic Team.

2005: Appeared in nine games with two starts during freshman season. . . had one hit with 12 at-bats. . . singled vs. Concordia-St. Paul on 4-22-05. . . started two games in rightfield.

High School: Graduate of Schuyler Central High School. . . lettered four years in softball and track at Schuyler HS. . . named Who's Who in Sports for Softball and Track two years.

WSC was picked to finish third in the South Division and seventh overall in the 2008 NSIC Preseason Football Coaches Poll released on Monday, August 4th during NSIC Media Day in Mankato, Minnesota. Wildcat junior quarterback Silas Fluellen was selected by coaches as the South Division Preseason Offensive Player of the Year.


The Wayne State at Nebraska-Kearney season opening football game will kickoff at noon on Saturday, August 30th at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium at Foster Field in Kearney. Some earlier website schedules had the game listed for a 6:00 p.m. start.


Former WSC pitcher Nick Schumacher was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 28th round Friday afternoon in the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft. The Nebraska City native was the 855th overall pick and it marks the second straight year a WSC pitcher was taken in the MLB Draft.
