2007 WSC Softball Camp Information Summer Team Camp July 23-24
The Wayne State College Softball Summer Team Camp will be held on July 23 and 24 (Monday and Tuesday) at the WSC Pete Chapman Softball Complex and the Wayne Summer Sports Complex fields. The camp is designed to give each team the chance to build chemistry before their upcoming high school softball season. Each team will recognize an MVP, Most Improved, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Tournament. The WSC Softball Summer Team Camp also provides kids an opportunity to be exposed to the Wayne State College campus and meet WSC softball players. Cost of the camp is $85 per player and $40 per coach. The cost includes four meals at the WSC Student Center and overnight stay in the WSC dorms. All participants will receive a WSC Softball Camp t-shirt. The camp will be filled on a first come, first serve basis with only 12 teams in the camp. Deadline for registration is June 22nd.

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.
Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.
The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.
The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.
Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
