2006-07: Played in 18 games with two starts during senior season, averaging 2.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game...Scored season-high 12 points with five rebounds on 1-5-07 against #1 ranked Winona State...had conference-high 11 points and four rebounds vs. Concordia-St. Paul on 2-28-07 while playing season-high 24 minutes.

2005-06: Appeared in all 25 games with two starts. Averaged 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Scored season-high 14 points four different times, vs. St. Cloud State (11-18-05), Fort Lewis College (12-2-05), South Dakota (12-9-05) and Winona State (1-13-06). Grabbed career-high nine rebounds vs. Fort Lewis College on 12-2-05. Shot 36.9 percent (45 of 122) from the field and 70.7 percent (29 of 41) from the free throw line. Played season-high 35 minutes vs. South Dakota on 12-9-05.

Before WSC: Averaged 18 points and six rebounds per game in 2004-05 at Golden West College, second-leading scorer in the league. Earned All-Conference honors in his two seasons at Golden West College, top scorer in the league as a freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Claremont High School, was a four-year starter and named All-State in basketball two seasons.....Also earned two All-Conference and one All-State honor in track and field.

PERSONAL: Son of Byron and LaJuan Brown. . . Born July 29, 1982. . . Majoring in Business and has career goal of opening his own accounting firm.

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
