Tyler Johnson
Tyler Johnson ranks as one of the greatest scorers and passers in men's basketball historyat WSC, setting numerous records while sporting a Wildcat uniform from 1995-99. Johnson, a native of Hebron, Nebraska (Hebron HS), ranks second on the all-time scoring list with 1,625 points and is the all-time leader in assists with 610. In three of his four seasons, Johnson led the Wildcats in scoring and helped turn the WSC men's basketball program into one of the top teams in the North Central Region in the late 1990's.
Johnson was a three-time All Nebraska selection by the Omaha World Herald. He averaged 12.3 points per game as a freshman, 16.0 as a sophomore, 15.7 as a junior and 15.0 points per game as a senior to earn All-American honors. During Johnson's senior season, he helped the Wildcats to a 23-5 record and the top seed in the NCAA Division II North Central Region.
Johnson was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame October 7, 2006.

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.
Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.
The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.
The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.
Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
