Bob Barry
Bob Barry is one of the greatest running backs in Wayne State football history and still holds the career record for rushing yards with 3,588. The Battle Creek native starred at Wayne State from 1976-1979, earning Second Team NAIA All-American honors in 1977 when he rushed for 1,130 yards in 10 games. He was also named to the All-NAIA District 11 and All-World Herald State College Team in 1977 along with earned Second Team All-Central States Intercollegiate Conference honors.
Barry is one of only two running backs to gain 1,000 or more yards in two seasons at Wayne State, achieving the feat in 1977 and 1978. Had a school-record seven 100-plus yard games in 1978. Barry earned NAIA honorable mention All-American honors in 1978 and 1979. In 1978, Barry was All-NAIA District 11, First Team All-CSIC and a member of the Omaha World Herald All-State College Team.
Bob Barry was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame in the fall of 1988.

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.
Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.
The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.
The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.
Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
