2006: Started all 11 games at wide receiver as a true freshman. . . Had a spectacular freshman season leading the team in receptions (44), receiving yards (693), touchdowns (7) and receiving yards per game (63.0, 7th in NSIC). . . Had a season-high eight catches for 127 yards including two touchdowns against Bemidji State on 10-14-06. Named to the NSIC honorable mention team as a wide receiver.

High School: A four-sport star at Storm Lake HS will play football and baseball at Wayne State College. . . In football, caught 64 passes for 782 yards with four touchdowns in seven games and played quarterback the other two games. . . Listed third all-time in Iowa high school history with 153 receptions. . . Won three medals as a junior at the Iowa State Track Meet in 2005, fourth in the 110 hurdles (14.8), sixth in the 400 hurdles (54.9) and sixth in the high jump at 6’3”. . . In baseball as a junior, earned Third Team All-State honors as a pitcher, going 9-2 with a 1.27 ERA. . . First Team Unanimous All-Conference selection in baseball as a sophomore and junior. . . In basketball, was Second Team All-Conference and led team in three pointers, steals and assists

Wayne State has earned the #3 seed for the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Baseball Tournament hosted by Emporia State in Kansas. The 40-11 Wildcats meet #4 seed Central Missouri (41-15) in Thursday's first round with game times to be announced Monday afternoon.


Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.


Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.


The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.


The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.


Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.


Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
