2006: Appeared in six games at center with five starts for WSC offensive line that allowed fewest sacks (eight) in the NSIC this season....missed first three games of the season with sports hernia surgery.......Named to the 2006 NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.
2005: Was the starting center at Wayne State for the second straight season, starting all 11 games for the Wildcats. Had one tackle vs. Concordia-St. Paul on 10-22-05. Also served as snapper on punts and kicks for the Wildcats.
2004: Started all 11 games at center for the Wildcats. Helped offensive line allowed fewest sacks in the NSIC this season (12 sacks in 11 games). High School: attended Miller High School where he was a two-sport athlete. Lettered in both football and wrestling. Was an all-conference, all-state and academic all-state performer. Personal: son of Brian and Jan Winter....born August 22, 1984.....is undecided on a major. Has three brothers: Vance, 25; Brant, 22 and Jon, 12.

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.
Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.
The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.
The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.
Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
