Very talented and athletic outfielder that can handle
the bat well. . . Expected to start in the outfield
for the 'Cats this spring.
2007: Ian appeared in 26 games with
20 starts this season for the Wildcats missing middle
part of the year with ankle injury...hit .288 with one
home run and 14 RBI, scoring 10 runs...had five multiple
hit games...hit three-run homer at Bemidji State on
4-28-07...had five-game hit streak to open the season,
going 7 for 18.
2006: Hit .378 in freshman season
while appearing in 40 games with 34 starts in the outfield
(24 in left and 10 in right)....led team in slugging
percentage (.640), tied for team lead in triples with
four, had four homers and 23 RBI's....had eight-game
hit streak from mid March to early April....went 4 for
6 vs. Augustana on 4-5-06.
2005: Sat out season as a redshirt.
High School: Lettered in baseball and football
three years and basketball for two years. . . All-Conference
and All-State honorable mention in 2003.
Personal: Son of Ted and Ingrid DeLaet. . .
