Thank you for your interest in Wayne State College and the Wayne State College baseball program. The Wayne State College baseball program has showed dominance in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference since joining in the 1999 season. The Wildcats have an NSIC-best record of 122-39 (.758) in that span including a 38-4 (.905) record in the past two seasons. Wayne State has won conference championships five of the past eight seasons including four straight from 2003 to 2006. The three seasons the Wildcats did not win the conference were in 1999 (2nd), 2000 (3rd) and 2002 (2nd). In the past three seasons, WSC has hosted and won the conference tournament. The 'Cats also have had 41 All-Conference performers, earning six NSIC Pitcher of the Year awards in the eight year span. Wayne State also has the 13th best overall record in the nation for the 21st Century with a mark of 246-113-1 (.683). The program has been consistently ranked in the top four in the region and also among the top 25 in the nation.

Concordia-St. Paul topped #15 Wayne State 10-6 Sunday afternoon in the NSIC Baseball Tournament championship game. The 40-11 Wildcats await word from the NCAA on a at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Official pairings are to be released Sunday evening by the NCAA.
Nate Preston won three events to lead the WSC men to a third straight NSIC outdoor track and field championship Saturday in Wayne. The Wildcats scored 164 points to nip second place Mary (156.5) for the team title. Brett Suckstorf won two events (hammer throw and discus) for WSC.
The WSC women's track and field team finished in third place with 106 points at the NSIC Championships in Wayne. Katie Wilson won two events (hammer throw and discus) and took second in the shot put to lead the Wildcats.
The NSIC Office announced Saturday that the NSIC Baseball Tournament has been shortened to a single-elimination tournament with Wayne State and Concordia-St. Paul (the last two undefeated teams in the tournament) playing Sunday at 1 p.m. in Wayne and the winner earning the NSIC Tournament Title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Schumacher struck out a career-high 14 batters in a complete game win to lead #15 Wayne State to a 9-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State at the NSIC Baseball Tournament in Wayne. The 40-10 Wildcats will play in the winner's bracket final Saturday at 10 a.m. against either Bemidji State or Concordia-St. Paul.
Seven WSC baseball players were named to the 2008 NSIC All-Conference Baseball Team announced Thursday afternoon. Nick Schumacher was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Year, Marc Manganaro earned the NSIC Co-Player of the Year while Nick Bidroski was selected the NSIC Co-Freshmen of the Year.
