Murle '48 (deceased) and Donna '47 (Broeker) Sydow Fredrick,
Grand Island, Neb.:
The 1945 Business Law Class of Mr. Wollenhaupt was held in
a long narrow room. The students were seated at long tables.
Murle Sydow was also enrolled in this class. Everyday he had
a greeting for each female student as he entered the room
and walked to his seat at the far end. We were also enrolled
in one of Miss Boyce's math classes. As a desk girl at Pile
Hall and cafeteria worker, I took my turn working on weekends.
One Saturday after completing my math homework, I called Murle
asking: what is the assignment for Monday? Soon, we became
friends. We were married 25 years and had five children (the
last two were twins).
