"Met My Mate at WSC" Directory
Kolby '98 and Renee '99 (Ernesti) Peters, Norfolk, Neb.:
"We met at the campus cafeteria as we both went to return
our trays at the same time. As we left the building, still
not knowing whom the other person was, my friend started talking
with him. It turned out that his roommate had previously dated
my friend. As I walked back to the dorm with my friend, I
asked her to tell me about the guy she just talked to. She
of course knew that I was interested in him, and called a
few people to find out more information on him. After calling
another friend that happened to live down the hall from Kolby,
she convinced me to go along just to say hi. As soon as we
walked in his room, the rest of our friends left and we were
sitting alone, two strangers having no idea what to say to
each other. I had been told he worked on a farm, and struck
up a conversation about how I had grown up on the farm and
missed it. We hit it off right away. He graduated in May 1998
with a degree in Criminal Justice, and I graduated in December
1999 with a degree in Computer Science. After dating 3 ½
years, we were married on May 27, 2000, in West Point, NE.
We currently reside in Norfolk, where I am employed as a Computer
Support Specialist with Northeast Community College, and my
husband works in the shipping/receiving department at Vulcraft."
