Darin '93 and Barbara '94 (Washburn) Lovercheck, Humphrey,
Neb.:
My name is Darin (DJ) Lovercheck (BS, 1993 and MSE, 2001),
and my wife's name is Barbara (Washburn) Lovercheck (BS, 1994).
Barbara and I met in the fall of 1990. I was a sophomore,
and she was a freshman. We both worked at the cafeteria, then
called The Gag. Another worker kept asking Barbara out, and
she continued to turn him down. After she turned him down
one Friday night, I jokingly asked her to go to a movie. She
said yes, and we went out that night. We worked together at
The Gag for a couple of years, and we got married on June
19, 1993. We have two children. Laura is nine and Joseph is
five. Barbara teaches at Humphrey Public Schools and is currently
working on her Education Administration Master's Degree at
W.S.C. I work as a therapist at Good Life Counseling in Norfolk.
If it were not for Wayne State College and The Gag, we would
have never met each other. Thanks for letting me share our
story with you.
