"Met My Mate at WSC" Directory
Chris '83 and Annette Gahan, Lincoln, Neb.:
"The fall of 1981 found me starting my seemingly aimless
third year of college with a major in Mortuary Science. I
was dreading Anatomy and Physiology because of it's reputation
as a challenging course and my perpensity to struggle in difficult
science courses. To my great surprise, the first day of the
class was life changing. We were instructed to form lab partner
teams of three. I seated myself strategically near two cute
blondes who lived in Morey Hall, the same dorm I lived in.
Call it luck or divine intervention, but we got teamed together.
Both ladies were named Annette, and studying to be nurses.
But one of them was the girl of my dreams. I blew my cover
of a serious student when Dr. McCue caught Jerry Wintz and
I playing football with a sheep's brain, but somehow she thought
it was funny. As the semester progressed, we found a bond
that continued to grow stronger. It was much more than studying
for tests, and dissecting our cat, (we named 'Bridget'). It
was true love. I got my 'C-' and Annette got her 'A'. It turned
out to be my last science class, (what could top that) as
I changed my major to business, and graduated in December
of 1983. Annette finished her education at Bryan Memorial
School of Nursing in Lincoln. We were married in June 1984
and are the proud parents of four sons: Evan age 13, John
age 10, Mason age 8, and Caleb age 6, and two daughters: Sarah
age 4 and Leah age 2."
