Anthony '93 and Dawn '94 (Garrett) Johnson, Omaha, Neb.:
"We first met in 1991, when I started dating Dawn's
roommate. I went out with her roommate for a short time, more
friends than anything serious. In the short time that we dated,
we went out as a group several times, and Dawn went along
more than once. I even set Dawn up with one of my best friends
so that we could double date on several occasions. It's a
good thing that friend of mine didn't work out!!"
"I saw Dawn often after that. She worked in the office
down in the basement of the student center, so I'd see her
every time I went to the campus bookstore or to a meeting.
We both served on the Student Senate, one year apart as well.
We could always say hi, but not much more. After all, I had
broken up with her best friend, so I was a bad guy, right?"
"We graduated in 1993. I went off to San Jose to get
started in the software business, and Dawn went to Pender,
NE to start teaching elementary school. It was in 1995 when
I was back in Wayne, visiting friends and family when I ran
into Dawn again. We talked about old times, new things that
had been going on, and before you knew it, we were dating.
Five months later, we were engaged! We got married August
10, 1996."
"I am working for Applied Communications as a worldwide
sales representative, and Dawn works right along side of me.
She manages all of my accounts, both in the U.S. and around
the world. This gives us the opportunity to work and travel
together, and we've loved every minute of it. On December
21, 2001, we were blessed with twins: Garrett Brennan and
Makenzie Lasora. Thanks Wayne State!!"
