Esther (Siegert) Hansen, Wisner, was the guest of honor at a 90th birthday celebration on Jan. 20. Her children requested a card shower and hosted an open house to acknowledge this milestone birthday. Esther was employed as a high school business teacher prior to her retirement.



Eugene K. Anderson retired after 26 years as a financial officer for a New York Stock Exchange company, Valhi, Inc. He has been a CPA since 1963. He and his wife, Janet, reside in Fairview, Texas.



Bruce Hoffman had the honor of being the first inducted when Sheridan College, Sheridan, Wyo., opened its Sports Hall of Fame. Bruce spent 47 years coaching high school and college basketball; 37 of those years were at Sheridan College. Upon his retirement in 1999, the Sheridan College Board of Trustees voted to rename the athletic facility/physical education complex the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome to honor his years of distinguished service. During his career Bruce received many honors and awards, among them: five-time Region IX Coach of the Year; Winningest Coach in Region IX History, 651 wins; five-time Wyoming Conference Coach of the Year; two Region IX championships. Bruce and his wife, Penny, reside in Sheridan.



Beverly (Prosch) Newton, Lincoln, works at the Nebraska Department of Education overseeing the information technology component of the communication and information systems career field. She has served as the Nebraska Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) state chair and adviser since 1992 and currently serves as the business education career field specialist and Nebraska FBLA state adviser. She has been named the chair of the national FBLA-Phi Beta Lambda Board of Directors. She will guide more than 250,000 members and advisers in the middle level, high school, postsecondary and professional divisions.



Galen A. Wiser was promoted to president of State National Bank, Wayne. He began his employment at the bank on a part-time basis while attending WSC. He and his wife, Kathy, reside in Wayne.



Scott E. Miller resides in Grand Island with his wife, Julie. He announced the publication of his second middle grade novel, Prairie Sunsets; a sequel to Prairie Whispers. Both novels recount the story of a pioneer family struggling to establish and maintain a homestead on the wild Nebraska prairie in the 1880s.



Eric Reinhardt has deployed to Balad, Iraq. He serves as public affairs officer for the U.S. Army’s Aviation Task Force 49, handling media relations and publishing the unit’s monthly newsletter.



Johnny “JP” Widner is a member of the Salem College, Winston-Salem, N.C., athletic department. He has spent the past two years creating the sports information department and was instrumental in professionalizing the department at the college. This season he will rejoin the women’s basketball program as the first assistant to the head coach and continue as head coach of the college’s cross country program. JP and his wife, Kristi, reside in Hillsville, Va.



Jaime (Tiller) Johnston and her husband, Timothy, announce the birth of daughter, Rachael, on Dec. 19. She joins them along with sister Sarah (2) in their Shawnee, Kan., home.



Merrily (Kyander) Schmid and her husband, Jim, announce the birth of their newest family member, Violet May, on Sept. 11. She is welcomed to their Bellwood home by Ivy (7), Andy (5) and Ethan (3).



Scott and Sara (Dederman ’93) Brayshaw reside in Northglenn, Colo., with their sons, Aiden (5) and Dylan (1 ½). Sara was named the 2008 Nurse of the Year at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center.



DeAnna (Schluns) Wennekamp and her husband, Mike, announce the birth of daughter, Careyna Lauren, May 9. She is welcomed to their Moline, Ill., home by sister, Maya Rae. DeAnna enjoys being a stay-at-home Mom and is PRN for the outpatient physical and occupational therapy and speech department at Trinity Medical Center, Terrace Park in Bettendorf, Iowa.



Bruce O’Neel has accepted a position with Safeco Insurance based in Seattle, Wash. He will serve as vice president of Total Rewards for Safeco. Bruce, his wife Sheri, and their children now reside in Sammamish, Wash.



Brenda (Agenbroad) Barranco and her husband, Chris, reside in Henderson, Nev., with their sons Noah (1) and Devin (4). Brenda is an occupational therapist for the Clark County School District.



Barbara (Hashberger) Wylie accepted a position with Ivy Tech Community College of Central Indiana as assistant director of student success services. She is also employed as an adjunct professor at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. Barbara finished her second master’s degree in Literacy and plans to pursue a doctoral degree in Educational Administration in Post-Secondary Education.



Lana (Stieneke) Fillmore lives in Spokane Valley, Wash., with her husband, Michael, and their twins Samuel and Johanna (20 months).



Robyn (Aerni) Lammers and her husband, Ross, announce the birth of daughter, Natalie Marie, Dec. 30. They reside in Omaha. Robyn is a first grade teacher in the Papillion LaVista school district.



Angela (Warner) Quinley and her husband, Chuck, announce the birth of daughter, Lilianna Elle, Feb. 8. They reside in Elkhorn. Angela is employed in human resources at Union Pacific Railroad, Omaha.



Wade Brosz and his wife, Rosely, announce the birth of their first child, Giuliana Tavares. They reside in Sunrise, Fla. Wade is employed as a middle school teacher.



Louisa (Nelson) Luke and her husband, Brian, announce the birth of son, Brady, Feb. 5. He is welcomed to their Omaha home by brother, Adam (2).



Travis and Angie (Wattier ’99, MSE ’03) Baumann announce the birth of Atley Ann, on Oct. 11. She is welcomed to their Norfolk home by siblings, Anden (6) and Taelin (4). Travis is a team leader for Norfolk Beverage. Angie is an ELL teacher at Nofolk Public Schools.



Jeff Dittmer (MSE ’03) and his wife, Michele, announce the birth of son, Carter Dean, Jan. 30. He is welcomed to their Shreveport, La., home by McKenzie (2). Jeff is the assistant executive director-sales for the Independence Bowl Foundation.



Kristy (Hansen) Voss and her husband, Jeff, reside in North Bend with their daughters, Rebekah (3) and Sarah (1½). Kristy is an adjunct instructor at Wayne State College.



Gayle (Mundil) Grauer and her husband, Jared, announce the birth of Briley Sue, on Dec. 11. They reside in Lincoln. Gayle is a teacher at Northeast High School, Lincoln.



Tracy (MSE ’07) and Patricia (Murphy ’99) Lichty announce the birth of son, Kaden Andrew, on Aug. 17. Patricia is a second-grade teacher at Woodland Park School. Tracy teaches PE at Norfolk Middle School and coaches football and baseball at Norfolk High. They reside in Norfolk.



Tosha Zubrod was united in marriage to Paul Kumke on June 2. They reside in Omaha. She has been employed at Boys Town for seven years and accepted the position of assistant coordinator of in-home family services at Boys Town of Iowa in Council Bluffs.



Russ and Jessica (Hasty) Frazey announce the birth of second son, Carter Cole, on July 20. He is welcomed to their Des Moines, Iowa, home by brother, A.J. (3). Russ is the operations manager at Kitchen Classics, Urbandale. Jessica is a registered nurse for surgical services at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.



Brad Joens resides in Fairfax, Iowa. He is employed at Hills Bank and Trust Company, Coralville, Iowa. He was promoted from credit associate to commercial banking officer in the company’s Cedar Rapids Southwest office.



Becky (Ziemba) Thomas and her husband, David, announce the birth of their first child, Bailey Theresa, on April 27. They reside in Germany.



Eric Nielsen and Megan Farmer were united in marriage on June 9. The couple reside in Ames, Iowa. Eric is a manager at Menards in Ankeny. Megan is working at Iowa State University as a teaching assistant and serves as an adjunct instructor at Des Moines Area Community College.



Natasha (Lipp) Tasler and her husband, Nathan, announce the birth of daughter, Kate Adeline, on July 4. She is welcomed to their home in Ashland by Abigail Ione (2). Natasha is an assistant children’s librarian at the Gretna Public Library.



Kevin Joens owns and operates Joensy’s Restaurant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He and Heather Dirks were married Sept. 1 and reside in Cedar Rapids.



Megan (Adamson) Froehlich and her husband, A.J., announce the birth of daughter, Kenley Meredith, Nov. 8. They reside in Gretna.



Katherine (Kratochvil) Naranjo (MSE ’06) is employed in the coordination of pre-school readiness programs with the Magnolia School District, Anaheim, Calif.
