Art Students Take Lessons on the Road

Wayne State College art education students and their instructional leader, Dr. Pearl Hansen, taught guest art lessons in small groups with children April 20 within the special education classroom at the elementary school in Winnebago. Students who participated in the trip included Kate Bergmeier of Auburn; Becky Lewis of Cottonwood, Ariz.; Chloe Bloomfield of Blair, Brad Mallet of Salix, Iowa; Demi Beatty of Winnebago; Nolan Teegerstrom of Stromsburg; and Tyson Koehn of Pierce. The group also spent time on a tour of the school including the high school art program instructional area and projects before attending the College Center grand opening in South Sioux City, Neb. Students met Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman at the South Sioux campus that afternoon at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the higher education partnership of Wayne State College and Northeast Community College.
