2011 | College Center Opens in South Sioux City

The grand opening for the College Center was held April 20 in South Sioux City, Neb. The ceremony celebrating this unique higher education partnership featured remarks by Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman, Wayne State College Interim President Curt Frye, Dr. Bill Path, president of Northeast Community College, and Stan Carpenter, chancellor of the Nebraska State College System, among others. The 39,600 square-foot building at 1001 College Way in South Sioux City, Neb., opened for classes March 14. Through a partnership between Northeast Community College and Wayne State College, students are able to take all of their necessary classes at the College Center to earn certificates, diplomas, and associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of areas such as elementary education, business administration and criminal justice.
