| Alumni House
The Alumni House was acquired in December of 1996. Mrs. Helen
Bressler donated the house in the form of a charitable gift
annuity. Mrs. Bressler was a life long resident of Wayne and
a graduate of Smith College. Mrs. Bressler's late husband,
John, farmed and was a banker. The Bresslers have two sons
and a daughter. The Bressler home, now the Alumni House is
located just east of campus. Mrs. Bressler said they built
the house in that location because they wanted to be near
the college and attend college functions, so it seems entirely
fitting that it is now part of the college.
The house will be used primarily for entertaining alumni
and friends of Wayne State College.
The Alumni House was decorated for Christmas, complete with
a tree, lights, and trimmings.
A complete collection of the WSC Spizzerinctum, the yearbook,
is open for browsing.
The 0-Year Reunion, celebrating graduating seniors 1st reunion
was held in the back yard of the house on April 22,1998. Students
enjoyed a BBQ and visiting.
The house was also used to help celebrate the success of
the 1998 Phonathon. Here the callers enjoy a pizza party as
they receive ell-deserved congratulations.
