Joining ACADADV Listserv

Open your e-mail program. Start an e-mail and address it to: majordomo@listserv.wsc.edu

In the body of the e-mail message, type - subscribe acadadv - making sure to leave a single space between the words and use all lowercase letters. NOTE: You do not need to have a subject in the Subject Line. If you are using a “tag,” or a “signature” at the bottom of each message it would be best to remove it before sending - these are not recognized by the listmanager software and may cause your subscription to be refused as an “unknown command.”

Send your message

• Subscription is not limited to specific e-mail programs - You may use any mail program to subscribe.

You will receive two messages - Majordomo results (which indicates that your message was successfully received) and a confirmation for subscribing to ACADADV. You must reply to the confirmation as instructed in order to be signed on to the list. Cut and paste the EXACT confirmation line as stated by majordomo and have this be the only message in the body, then send it. Once you have confirmed you will receive a welcome message that includes directions for taking your name off (Unsubscribing from) the list. Printing this can be useful in case the e-mail is accidently deleted and you need to know how to unsubscribe at a later date.
