FAQS - International Students
Q: Can international students receive financial aid?
A: Financial assistance from Wayne State College for
foreign students is extremely limited and awarded
almost exclusively to academically superior students
who have completed at least one year in residence.
The forms of assistance available are:
- Assistantships: The College has a small
number of graduate assistantships. Competition for
these is open to both U.S. and foreign applicants.
Demonstration of a high level of competence in English
is required before a foreign student may take up
classroom duties. The initial decisions on these
awards are made between mid-February and mid-March
for the academic year beginning in August. To allow
time for processing of applications, those seeking
graduate assistantship awards should have their
files complete in the Office of Graduate Studies
by February 15.
- Tuition waivers. An extremely limited number
of tuition scholarships, known as "tuition
wavers" are available. Preference is given
to applicants who have completed at least one year
of study at Wayne State College and have demonstrated
superior academic ability.
