WEBCAT

Two web-based systems were set up to enable access by students, faculty & advisors to the official student records. This is a secure site and all users need to be issued an ID and PIN number in order to access the official student records.

This system enables students to access their own records in the Business Office, Financial Aid and Records & Registration. It also allows a student to register online (during specific time periods) for most courses.

• All undergraduates need advisor approval in order to register for on-campus courses.
• Students do not need advisor approval to register for continuing education courses.
• Graduate students do not need advisor approval.

New freshman and transfer students are issued their PIN numbers and trained on the on-line registration system by an advisor when they come to campus for summer registration.

Continuing and former students are issued a PIN number after they have been registered for a class. The Records & Registration Office will send the PIN and other information to the permanent address.

This system enables faculty & advisors to inquire on their advisees academic records, and to enter midterm and final grades for students in their classes. Faculty & advisors may access this system as long as they are on contract as faculty or an advisor at WSC. This account may be disabled when they are no longer under contract with this institution.

Part-time faculty may access this account during the terms for which they are actively teaching. If they are not teaching in a specific term, this may not be valid for that term. PIN notification letters are sent to the permanent address.
